Barracuda - Encoder
The Barracuda™ encoder delivers high performance SD H.264 encoding in a uniquely compact form factor. For standard definition encoding needs, the Barracuda adheres to Havision’s "Encode Once" design, offering the ability to deliver multiple streams at different resolutions and bit rates to multiple destinations. The Barracuda is fully integrated with the Furnace IP video distribution system.
Performance. The Barracuda delivers standard definition H.264 video faster than any other encoder. With Barracuda, the process from live video to IP video stream takes 70 milliseconds end-to-end.
Power. The Barracuda has evolved to support the most rigorous applications within the streaming, enterprise, medical, and military segments. The encoder supports advanced features such as the ability to emit up to 8 streams, produce multiple bit rates / resolutions from a single source, selectively apply a JPEG image to any stream, produce snapshots, scale and de-interlace, and encrypt any or all video streams.
Compact / Highest Density. The Barracuda is available as a compact stand-alone appliance or can be placed in a 1RU 6-slot or 4RU 21-slot rack mount chassis.
